Playing a SnG the other day. Early in the tournament I got dealt QQ in late position, fantastic I thought. Until a tight player UTG makes significant raise and a tight player UTG+1 comes over the top with an all in. It folds round to me and after some thought I muck my QQ feeling that the reraiser has AA or KK.

The dude UTG calls and shows 77, other guys shows KK.

Multiple pocket pairs DO occur in poker, players frequently double up or get stacked in MTTs for this very reason.

I know gpokr is a joke in terms of player standard (i.e you could shove $100K with your KK or QQ and have 2 or 3 players call with weak Aces, mid pairs or even a suited fckn king) but if you play for money learn to trust your reads and fold Jacks and Queens to big reraises from tight players when you feel it's right to do so.

Rattus are you part of the GPokr PR team or what? I agree, everything that happens here COULD happen in a real game. My complaint is that some hands feel as though they are "staged" to play out a certain way. I'm sure other players have experienced this as well.

Porker, nah I ain't gpokr pr, lol. The opposite would be true. I just find the plaintiff cries of 'it's rigged' somewhat amusing.

Like anyone who's played here I've had flopped nut straights and sets beaten by runner, runner and flopped nut flushes beaten by flopped straight flushes. But that's how the game goes sometimes.

For a start, I don't think the site creator would have the programing skill to set up 'staged' hands and even if he had the skill he wouldn't have the motivation to go to the time and trouble to intentionally fuck things up.

Secondly, when ppl play for monopoly money you end up with multiway pots being played post flop on virtually every hand meaning that often there are multiple draws involved and so good hands get out-drawn more frequently than in a real game.

It really is that simple and when I read all the 'rigged hand' complaints I laugh my frigging socks off at the denial and paranoia that fuels those remarks.

I've lost big pots to runner, runner and two outers in many real games both live and online. It's shit when it happens and you want to blame something but blaming the software is fucking lame. It's just how it goes sometimes and those that can't stand the swings of the game and get very angry are better off avoiding poker altogether.

Rattus, I never once said it was "rigged". the frequency of multiple pairs is just fkn unreal.

It is very, very simple.
1. This is not real money
2. There are refills every 10 minutes
3. The "cost" to play any and every hand is very low compared to one's "cash" reserve.
All these add up to people playing hands they wouldn't otherwise and when more people play more "good" hands are encountered.
No conspiracy theory needed.
