I see a lot of talk about whether Mods do or don't do their job...whether they should or shouldn't play poker...how they only help their friends. I want to set a few things straight...mods don't get paid...they asked to be mods to help keep the site playable...harassment not bad language is a violation of the rules...most mods try to be fair-minded...your comments are welcomed!!!

In my opinion, it should be a requirement for mods to be players. The more often they play, the better. It makes them more available, and ensures they get to know a lot of the other players, and their normal behaviour. We can all kick off now and again when we feel hard done by, but if a mod knows the player they can make a better judgement on how to deal with them.

Thought we all come here to play poker,NOT babysit!I agree Rob that all Mods are fair minded and and are of right choice for the Job.What I think is,there is not enough Mods.Adding at least 3-4 more, especially in the European Time Zones and Far East would help for early Mornings in the states.Putting 2-3 active player/Mods in a 8-10hr time span in Time Zones would help around the clock.I also believe that if you are going to ask to be a Mod then you should at least show you are going to help and not just take up space.Taking away the Mods that no longer play or are active player/Mods and replacing that with active player/Mods might help with the backlash you're hearing about not enough help and never a Mod available. Also Mods should only Mod the Game they play most, banning a players action on a game you dont play might get bad opinions from players and lose traffic.Looking at the list of Mods in the Rules section doesn't show which Mods are available to which game.

i couldnt agree more i would like to be a mod and to go with wat grahams said i have the odd day where u lose to the most silly hand and u go off the rail but if mods were to take time while playing poker to get to know them would make more sense and make a better judgement on punishment :) i think ppl should vote

I totally agree with Myerlyn. More mods I think is a great answer, especially in different time zones. If possible, we should have one moderator online (and playing) during each hour.
They really arn't here to babysit, and I think that's another good point. But it seems like we also can't be left alone either. Like the weird species we are, we crave a governing system.
Let's hope that ONE-DAY, Ryan will see this and do something more than his usual nothing.

Myerlyn makes some good points, the actions that I’ve seen taken by Mods has been fair, but there are just not enough on line at most times to get the job done. Right now it is 9:15 PM Central and only one Mod is available. I don’t understand the idea that a Mod should only Mod the game they play. It would appear that this would limit the ability of the Mods to be available for the whole Gpokr site. I also believe that anyone chosen to be a Mod should rule based upon the violation witnessed and not the knowledge of the player. Anything else would appear to be based upon friendship. Anyone can have a bad hand and mouth off an obscenity, but taking the time to type it out is going a little far. That is what warnings are all about. When people take it to the next level and threaten or become abusive it is time put a stop to their ability to fowl up the sites.
I'm lucky in that I get to play and view Gpokr while at work so there are normally 40 hours a week that I'm on-line. What is a surprise is that there are Mods on the list that I have never seen on-line, what good could they be doing the sites?
