I mostly agree w/ ya Mr_poker but I do not think England will make it into the elimination round; Italy strong team, Brazil mist certainly experienced and Spain does look good as a surprise team....my 4th tho hard to really say; I think it will be an unknown team with most shocking rewards.

I dont know how you can describe Spain as a "surprise team", they won the Euros and on paper have the best team in the tournament. They will go into the tournament as favourites but anything can happen.

Maybe Argentina's "Messi" factor can get them to the later stages of the tournament. I think England will just fall short (as usual)

Rabid...like always u make a reply to include me in it. Watching sportscenter alot and even fox soccer channel has helped me make this prediction....Messi does look great dont misquote me on that; but I just have this feeling tho England will fall short; other then that the other 3 are a given for sure.

Spain will no doubt go a long way if not all the way, but there is still some doubt over their defence. Although good, they are in no way impregnable. They do however defend from the front and with the likes of Villa, Torres, Iniesta, Fabregas and Xavi, not many teams will get any kind of return from the tournament favourites.

Brazil, as ever, will be a force this summer. Strangely, it seems that this time their defence will be their strength. Lucio, Maicon and Julio Cesar have all been under the strict guidance of Jose Mourinho for 2 years which will undoubtedly be an advantage, also Alex has been in great form for Chelsea this year. Luis Fabiano up front can be as good as any striker on his day and Kaka can turn a game in an instant. Not as many household names, but good enough for at least a semi final.

Argentina have a frightening strike force including Tevez, Milito, Aguero, Higuain and the awesome Messi. With Samuel in defence and veron in midfield they are not short of experience if perhaps a little ageing. Watch out for Angel di Maria. Got to worry about the manager though.

Holland will go far if they get their mental state right. Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie and Van Bommel will scare a few teams, but again defensive weaknesses will see them fall short ultimately.

Italy will be as defensively sound as ever, Germany will struggle but will make the second round, Portugal will flatter to deceive, Serbia will surprise, Ivory Coast will be unlucky and Chile will go further than expected.

As for the eventual winners? It will definitely be England.
Lamps, JT, Ashley Cole and Joe Cole are on a high and will take that into the WC, Gerrard will be desperate to gain success after a poor season (I believe we will at long last see Stevie G at his best when it matters), Adam Johnson and James Milner will hopefully play a part, 3 good keepers (though none world class), the best defence around, huge strength in depth in midfield and of course the player of the tournament up front - The boy wonder Wayne Rooney will win the World Cup for England.....FACT.

1st - England
2nd - Spain
3rd - Argentina
4th - Brazil

Surprise packages - Serbia, Chile

Of course these are all my opinions proving girls do know about football and I did not in any way ask my husband to write it........
