Is it my imagination or is the following becoming more and more of a common theme these days?

Dealing pocket cards: [Ac, Ad]
fnf calls
pusht raises $300
RutttOh calls
fnf raises $1,800
pusht raises $8,800
RutttOh folds
fnf raises $16,300
pusht calls
Dealing flop: [4d, Kd, 7c]
Dealing turn: [5d]
Dealing river: [6c]
fnf shows [Ac, Ad] for a pair of Aces
pusht shows [Ah, 8c] for a straight eight high
pusht wins main pot $37,000

sad thing is, almost as soon as flop came, I just sensed a turn/river str8 was coming. If he had happened to have the Ace of diamonds it would have been a diamond on the river instead.

Can't it just be that pusht made the mistake to underestimate your hand and then lucked out?

Gpokr will always have a lot of bad beats, since we are not playing for real money. I have noticed the same behaviour and amount of bad beats on Full Tilt when playing for fake money.

The trick is really not to slow play top pair cause you can almost guarantee slow play will lead you into flush or straight chasers. Maybe everyone will fold but better to make 300 than lose. I have only lost 3 top pair all ins this month. Proof in the puddin
