In order to rule the many, the destined few have to guide full societies as though they were a ship. You can't push a ship physically, you have to make the right decisions from inside to direct it the way you want it to go.

On a Global basis, that's the economy. You generate control over the elements that affect the lives individually implicating them all in 1 large machine.

When there is a crisis, the people can be manipulated into the direction we guide them.

Historically:

- Nero blamed Christians for the great Fire in Rome. This allowed him to claim real estate at a deliciously low price and begin reconstruction without the consequences of having pillaged the people for the land without paying them for it.

- Hitler pinned the Reichstag fire on communists. The people were then rallied to a cause and demanded greater power be given to the Government in order to protect against any future similar event.

- February 15th, the U.S.S Maine suffers an explosion on board.

March 9th, Congress allocates 50,000,000$ to the military enhancement of the nation.

March 28th, they determine a mine destroyed the Maine.

The President orders a Blockade on April 21st and declares war on April 25th.

The world will not 'end' ... it simply shifts drastically in the direction we take it. An outflow of disease or crisis consolidates more power for the few in charge which allows us to change direction again and guide the world as required.
