at 10:46 AM, Thursday April 7, 2011 EDT Gpokr is a unique variant of poker, it bears a vague resemblance to no limit Texas hold'em but plays out with a closer resemblance to pot limit Omaha.
Yes, you only get 2 hole cards not 4 but everybody limps in on almost every hand so big draws in multi-way pots have more equity than hands like top pair top kicker, bottom/mid two pair etc. Can't really say whether gpokr will help players improve at NLHE or PLO but it can be fun and you won't find the repo agents on your doorstep at the end of a bad downswing. So if you take it seriously you're in for a rough ride because you will enter pots in front and end up miles behind when against many callers but if you don't take it seriously you might have fun and get to chat and cybersocialise with a friendly bunch of regular players. |
