This Final week rally had 10 players and at least 20 rivers, several of which hit both hands. This last hand was a perfect example of the whole tourney:

Dealing river: [6d]

TennJed raises $2,600
jack be nimble raises $8,400
TennJed calls
jack be nimble shows [9s, 7d] for a straight ten high
TennJed shows [5s, 7h] for a straight eight high
jack be nimble wins main pot $10,000
jack be nimble wins side pot $5,000
TennJed finishes the tournament 2nd and wins $136,500
TennJed stands up
jack be nimble finishes the tournament 1st and wins $224,000

Hey TennJed, poker is perhaps the most frustrating game out there, gets me vexed and elated in equal measure. But that's why we love it, because it's unpredictable, random and to play we have to deal with incomplete information.

The hand you've described looks very standard. There are literally thousands of examples from live play of real bad beats and coolers on youtube.

Here's a classic that might cheer you up from an adjusted perspective point of view. One of the featured players will be down c. $300,000 by the end of the hand, and though the loser took it like a man on TV I'll bet he kicked seven bells out of his favorite teddy when he got home that night.

Check out this classic hand....
