Thanks Ryan. I think the hack was for the fun of it. There's definitely something pranksterishly appealing about coming in as Robin Hood and stealing pretend money from the rich. S/he hadn't gotten around to the giving to the poor yet. I think you'll find that any site with enough popularity will attract people like that. It's sort of like the adolescent urge to call into a radio show and request songs -- action at a distance, your voice heard by many.

now what happened to shpritzer

A little more detective work: You might want to check with gnosis. There's record of him winning a 400k pot from shpritzer last night or this morning. They were the only two who had gone in on the flop. (We know this because one's win is equal to the other's loss). It may be suspicious that gnosis' current chipcount is about equal to what he had yesterday plus what shpritzer had yesterday. This isn't to say that foul play has necessarily occurred; it's possible that gnosis had already won the rest of shpritzer's stack in smaller pots. It's probably worth asking gnosis to make sure, since shpritz has gone missing.

An updtate: Word from gnosis through [name omitted, in case s/he's shy] is that shpritzer just went a little crazy and kept betting big amounts with nothing in his hand, eventually losing it all to gnosis.

I spoke with gnosis and it seems legit. I sent an email to shpritzer and there was no reply.
