The trolls seem to have been getting a few peoples back up of late. I understand an 'ingore user' feature is in the works which will probably help things a lot. Really I'd just like to voice my opinion on having individual moderators, to which I'm strongly opposed. It inevitably seems to stifle free chat and is obviously open to favoritism and abuse. Especially if the mods are playing alongside everyone else.
It's not a new idea but definitely works. So my vote would goto a particapatory moderation system. Have a report user button which flags the offending user with a black mark, n marks in a give period results in a ban etc. (Probably should have some sort of 'eligibility to vote' check as well to prevent abuse from someone signing up multiple accounts to get someone banned. Perhaps have to have been registered for at least a month, or even better a check against activity eg. n hours logged in a month.) |
