Well personally I would back A2 suited over 86 off every single time.
I've been playing here long enough to grasp the notion that people go all in with little more than nothing on the baby tables.....I go all in with hands of which I would never call in a cash game......but I do it too just to get to the tables where there is just a modicum of more sensible play.
Jules, I know it's not an instant call, but on these tables it's hard not to call a suited A. I like the way you play Jules and respect you as a friend so any explanation as to why you don't like the call would indubitably help me improve my play......always looking up at the stars Jules :)

Pebble.......crawl back under that rock. For the last few months I thought we'd come to an uspoken agreement where you stfu and we don't have to interact in any way. Let's keep it that way.

I wouldn't back A2 over 86 every single time. There is more to it than that.

The reason it's a bad 'call' is because you can't know I had 8 6.

Here's a scenario...

You raise 500$... I fold my 8 6 ... the flop comes 8 8 8...

Now... was my fold bad?

Clearly it wasn't. With a raise like that, you could have a very strong hand depending on what table we're at. Folding my 8 high is not a bad play at the time of the decision because of the amount of hands that better me.

At the time of your decision to call... you had to decide if a Bad ace was worth that price. I could have had any variety of hands and A 2 would not be a heavy favorite over many of the hands I could have had.

A bluff with a lesser hand is often better in the form of a bet than a call. The bet puts the pressure on the opponent. They had best be sure before they call. You make them choose to gamble or fight another hand. You give them the opportunity to earn and lose big... or to wait for a better hand next time.

You were calling with quite a few weak hands......as other people were on the table......and given your table position, it was a fair assumption that you had a weaker hand than A2 suited.....and so it transpired to be.
You were bluffing as I suspected, but you got lucky on the community cards - it happens. It really is as simple as that. GL for the month tho.

I find that what I consider to be a weak hand and a strong hand can change back and forth everytime a community card is added to the table.

I just had QQ and went all in to have my opponent call with 6 7. The community cards gave him a straight on the river. It was very much like a car wreck watching the straight unfold and not able to do anything about it.

He chose to gamble, and I was more than willing to gamble the amount on the Queens. I lost what I was prepared to gamble. He won what he was willing to gamble.

Correct any hand can be strong depending on which community cards appear, however the case in point is that the all-in with 8 6 off was pre flop. 8 6 off pre flop is a weak hand, unless, as was the case, you get lucky with the community cards.

Any all in is a gamble, hell I lost with KK against 10 5 off which may I add he called 3600 preflop with and the 5 hit flush. Lost with AA with 93 off, cant even remember what that hit I was so shocked. But all in all it is a gamble. I guess we have to be greatful it isnt real money otherwise a lot of us would be living on the streets. But you keep rocking shed :o)
