Appeak Poker is available on Android devices and possibly some other platforms. It is somewhat similar to gpokr but actual works as it should.
There is no lag. You can play at many different buy in levels for 8 handed and 5 handed games. There are lots of sit and go tournaments for 5 and 8 handed play at regular speed or turbo speed. There are multi-table tournaments. Your hard earned chips are not re-set at the end of the month. You can make friends and send out friend requests on the fly. The interface is easy on the eye and easy to navigate and use. It's very easy to mute abusive players, although I haven't witnessed much abusive chat since signing up. It always pays the winning hand, unlike gpokr that sometime pays the non-winner. The weird runouts that we all see at gpokr are not a problem. In other words, it works really well as a free to play poker site. |

You can see all the chat in the scrolling text on the bottom left of the screen, it is highlighted in blue italics. Avatars can be personalised by linking Appeak to Facebook. For those people who like Gpokr for its social element then Appeak is probably not for you. For those who just want to play hold'em free of charge then Appeak is a good alternative to Gpokr for it's smooth running, easy interface, player population, zero lag, zero glitches and lack of abusive players. |
