This hand is taken from actual gameplay on Full Tilt and took place between Patrik Antonius and pr1nnyraid. You?ll be standing in for pr1nnyraid.

Game type: 500/1000 NL holdem
Your image: solid pro, aggressive
Opponent's image: same
Your hand: Ts Th

The scenario: You?ve been getting the better of this high stakes match so far when the following hand comes up. You get TT in the SB and raise to 3k. Antonius calls and you flop an overpair:

Flop: 5h 5s 4 c

Antonius checks, you bet 4k and he calls. The turn is the 9h. Antonius checks. You bet 10,300 into 14,000. Now Antoinus check-raises you to 31,000.

What is your play?

A. Call
B. Fold
C. Raise

2 people think this is a good idea

Let a poker n00b try it...

Both had 200K+ stack size, similar to 500/1000 table in GPokr, which was 100K min. buy in, 300K max. buy in before.

Pre-flop:
Patrik Antonius is a solid pro, aggressive player. He would raise 10K-30K pre-flop if he have a big pocket, like AA,KK,QQ or AK suited.
He probably would raise 7K-15K too for the hands like JJ,TT,99,AK,AQs or ....
In this case, he didn't re-reiase but made a flat call for 3K pre-flop raise,so he probably had a hand like A-rag suited, A-rag, KQs or smaller pocket pairs (like 88 or below).

Flop: 5h 5s 4c, pot size:6K, 4K bet
Patrik did a flat call too. Remember that, he is an aggressive player, he wouldn't let you chase cheaply if he have a strong hit, so I don't thnk he had a 5, pocket 4s or an over pocket pair unless he was slow playing it.

Turn: 5h 5s 4c 9h, pot size:14K, 10.3K bet
Patrik did a 31K re-raise, tried to double up the pot, but not that much compared to 200K+ stack size and 31K re-raise hard to stop a 200K+ chaser, I think he probably had a 9 (may be Ah 9h), wanted to check the water and to play for the flush draw.

My move: I would re-raise to 60K-90K and call until the end with no brake.

Just my $0.02.

If we reverse engineer this, Antonius probably figures I have a pocket pair or a flush draw. He raised, so he thinks he has me beat. I would have to agree and fold.

I would call, and maybe spike a ten. If I dont spike the ten on river then check

Thanks Jules, that was fun. But I'm curious... What would you do in pr1nnyraid's place?

Danny, if I were in pr1nnyraid place I would have probably been sick in my mouth, then called thinking he'd caught the 4.

Ive seen Antonius do this before it's a bluff.
re araise is the answer if he had an overpair he would have re raised on the turn . tThats my humble opinion
