at 11:38 PM, Wednesday March 19, 2014 EDT Before I put my two cents in I will say that I have been gone for awhile from pokr, but have always kept up with the issues and things going on here. I have been back now for a few weeks.
When a player shows interest in being a mod and has no huge rule breaking issues, any mod can post that on the Advisor forum for other mods to weigh in on. Usually the comments range from "yes, this person is very friendly and gets along with others", to "this person is online at the hours we need", or "this person has been here a long time and would do a good job", to "this person has really has some issues in the past with language and player abuse and might not be a great choice." No single mod can decide, and a mod's dislike of a person has never really been an issue. The suggestions and comments are very much geared to the game and not personal issues. Ryan ultimately makes the decision on any mod in the end. Also, the pokr mods do not weigh in on kdice decisions, and vice versa. Each game is different and it wouldn't be right to make that decision when we don't play that particular game. Also keep in mind that there are many mod issues that happen that players never see. Some days the mods work non stop for hours to stop a spammer or cheater, and some days they take more abuse than anyone should. They do this entirely for free, as a non paid volunteer, with little support and few tools to do it. As far as Ryan not answering emails, or suggestions, we have all dealt with that and know that if something is needed, it will hopefully, eventually be taken care of. |

at 12:32 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT Well sorry I beg to differ Karin. I have shown interest and requested to be a mod on this site for a very long time. With the exception of the odd obvious people on this site, many have asked why I am not and even sent emails to Ryan suggesting that I would make a good one. Which I must say I dont think I would be a bad one as I have contributed towards this site in many way including with mods on occassions over the time helping to catching the scammers. But because of one of incident a few years ago I have been told it probably will never happen. So it is up to the mods and what they say and unless they all agree one will never be a mod. Ryan just gets informed of who you all agree on and he goes on that. So that is how he has the final say.
And because one is liked by all and even if one gets drunk and abusive to pther players when he is rarked up, that is ok to have his named as mod? I am not trying to direspect anyone in any shape or form but this is what I have learnt. |

at 1:13 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT As a paying member I think that members should vote for Mods. We should be presented with a list to choose from and be allowed to vote. Ryan grab a pair and make some changes please. There is no way we need Mods who are rarely around, or pop in and out every couple of months, or throw their Mod weight around unnecessarily or have biases or inappropriate behaviour with select players.

at 1:15 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT PS TLP has been the most helpful Mod, and it is not easy to deal with people who are upset. Stop the complaining about her she is the mod that is least likely to not be fair and hears both sides.

at 3:42 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT Just to make it clear for everyone, i talk about Advisors for KDICE, NOT Gpokr.
777up you are right, people cannot be on constantly to moderate. That would be nearly impossible unless they was payed or robots. But if more people with the right time zones were elected to mod KDICE, that problem would be narrowed down significantly. I can see a big difference in the game from when I left till now. And it looks like it’s going in the right direction. But I still see things that could be changed (There will always be things that could be changed, on any site and it has to start somewhere), and the first thing I would suggest to be dealt with is more people to advise, to keep KDICE out of the still existing trouble. That won’t happen as it is now due to the lack of online Advisors. If not now at least in the long run would benefit KDICE with new Advisors. Regardless of how great and wonderful it is that people like Jurgen is still online from time to time, does not help anything when problems still arise which are not taken care of. We need more Advisors to fulfill the job. |

at 7:16 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT lol skyler, pretty funny actually that people can come back for a few days, play a few games, maybe start a few convos like "oh I see the site is still full of cheaters, nothing has changed blah blah" and immediately conclude that the site is full of cheaters and that mods are never online.
It shows you have no clue about what has been going on. Sure a lot of regular players have sadly left because well let's face it, the game gets boring after a while and people move on. Sure there are still problems with cheaters, especially on the lower tables. But the blatant cheating and hardcore otf playstyle has definitely been taken care of for a good part. The most complaints in the last year have been about members winning most golds and not so much about cheating. It's way calmer now so there's much less need to step in. Sure there are still cheaters or people who don't know the line between pga and otf but that is been handled when needed. Again, complaints or reports are ALL being looked into. And if you claim the site is still full of cheaters, give names and report them. It's actually a bit ironic that you complain about cheating when you were part of the problem when you still played. There's a reason you were never given a mod badge, cough. But hey, welcome back to Kdice I guess |

at 8:00 AM, Thursday March 20, 2014 EDT Maddy, the fact that you always have good suggestions and very helpful answers for people in the forum hasn't gone unnoticed by me. Sometimes I think, "oh, I hadn't thought of that" when I read one of your answers. Talk to a mod and let them know that you want to put your name in. Maybe the past should be left in the past. Most people don't even remember any of it.
